Chris is a seasoned serial entrepreneur in the life sciences industry, specializing in pioneering medical devices. At Bessel, he collaborates with startups and established teams, prioritizing customer experience in solution design. Previously, he co-founded AtheroMed, securing $18 million in initial funding and developing a device to prevent amputations by clearing leg artery plaque. He also led bronchoscopy procedure innovations at Asthmatx, later acquired by Boston Scientific. Chris is a visiting professor at UTEP and advises the Santa Clara University Healthcare Innovation and Design Lab. With a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Stanford, an M.B.A. from Wharton, and over 85 U.S. patents, he's a distinguished innovator.
Dr. Mark Coreil

Dr. Coreil is a Board Certified orthodontist with over three decades of experience in research and innovation. As an Associate Professor at the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry, he's mentored and contributed to the New Orleans Children’s Hospital Cleft and Craniofacial Team. He's a sought-after international lecturer, specializing in aesthetics, biomechanics, digital workflow, and 3D printing, consulting with top orthodontic and tech companies like Dentsply and 3Shape. Since 2011, Dr. Coreil has played a crucial role in Ormco's research and product development, resulting in successful orthodontic device launches. With four US patents to his name and more pending, his pioneering contributions to orthodontics are widely recognized.
